The Dithering Swamp is the primary marshland biome of the Breach.
The Swamp is a type of wetland that is subject to frequent or continuous flood. Typically, the water is shallow and features grasses, rushes, reeds, typhas, sedges, other herbaceous plants, and moss. It is generally uninhabited, except by frogs, alligators and strange fish. Woody plants re in fact low-growing shrubs. They also differ from swamps, which usually have a greater proportion of open water surface and may be deeper.
The Swamp is noted for its variability, as average annual temperatures range from 60 °F (16 °C) to 80 °F (27 °C). Temperatures in summer months typically exceed 90 °F (32 °C), while freezing in winter months occurs with varying severity and frequency. It isn't exactly a good place to live, due to the area being a breeding ground for disease and bugs. There are little to no visible roads, and if there are any, they are terribly uneven and in poor condition, making it hard to traverse. The Swamp also has heavy, thick, smog-like air the deeper one goes in, and is a place where poisonous flora grows. One would require a breathing mask to see and breathe safely.
Situated to the southwest of the Samba Heartlands, the swamp connects the main continent of the Breach to the new continent.
Not only do swamps serve a vital role in linking the two major landmasses of the Breach, they were one of the three locations that citizens had to find a datamine during the Reformat.
